Faramarz Kharabi (Senior Member, IEEE) received the B.E. degree from Stony Brook University, Stony Brook, NY, USA, in 1983, and the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees from Lehigh University, Bethlehem, PA, USA, in 1985 and 1989, respectively. In 1990, he joined AT&T Bell Labs Wireless Business Unit as a Member of Technical Staff where he was in charge of building simulation models for the first/second generations of TDMA, GSM and CDMA Transceivers. In 2001, he joined Agere systems where he was in charge of Large-Signal modeling Phemt devices at 2.5GHz, 10 GHz and 40 GHz for Electro-optics Modulation Drivers and Transimpedance Amplifiers for OC-48, OC-192 and OC-768. Since 2003, he has been with RFMD/Qorvo, Greensboro, NC, USA, where He is a Senior Member of Technical Staff. He has been developing custom Large-Signal models for use in design of GaN and Phemt HPAs and Switches and improving the nonlinear performance of Foundry PSP SOI models for internal Switch designs. His main areas of interest are next-generation model development for 5G and beyond applications.

Dr Kharabi is a member of IEEE MTT and EDS Societies and has served as an Associate Editor for IEEE TMTT for the past three years. He has also served in Technical Committees of IEEE CSIC Conference and has been a reviewer for IEEE TMTT for 20 years. He has given workshops in Modeling in IEEE MTT-S and has several publications in IEEE conferences and Journals as well as inside ATT Bell Labs.
