Babak Jamali received the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in electrical and computer engineering from Rice University, Houston, TX in 2016 and 2019, respectively. He received the B.S. degree in electrical engineering from Sharif University of Technology, Tehran, Iran, in 2013. He is currently a senior engineer at Infinera Corporation, Sunnyvale, CA working on the development of broadband mm-wave integrated circuits for the next generation of high-speed optical communication links. He was a postdoctoral scholar with the Integrated Sensors Laboratory at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) from 2020 to 2021, an RFIC Design Intern with Qualcomm, San Diego, CA, in 2018, and a Visiting Graduate Researcher with UCLA from 2018 to 2019. He received the GAAS Ph.D. Student Fellowship Award from the European Microwave Integrated Circuits Conference in 2019. He was also a recipient of the IEEE MTT-S Graduate Fellowship Award in 2018 and the Texas Instruments Distinguished Graduate Fellowship in 2013. He has been an active MTT-S member since 2014 and has served as a technical reviewer for several conferences and journals, including IEEE Transactions on Terahertz Science and Technology and IEEE Microwave and Wireless Component Letters. His research interests include millimeter-wave and terahertz integrated circuit design for broadband communications and sensing applications.
